Is there a way to turn the sound off of the camera clicking when taking a picture?

Easiest and cheapest solution: flip the silent mode switch (above the volume controls), take the shot, turn silence off...

Nope, be grateful that there is that option. BlackBerry completely disabled the option to silence the camera shutter, minus the voicemail trick.

if your iphone is jailbroken you can just replace the camera shutter caf file with a silent caf file that is located in System/Library/Audio/UISounds
