Camera Roll and Photo Stream in iOS 8.1

Whenever I delete a photo from Camera Roll, it's deleting it from my photo stream. This was never the case in ios 7. Is anyone else having this issue?

I'm very confused about these. If you delete from My Photo Stream it doesn't seem to delete from Camera Roll which seems counterintuitive.

Apple in my opinion is making this whole iCloud thing, more confusing than it needs to be.
And yes, it does the same thing on my end when I delete from the camera roll.
