Hello quick question im thinking of buying a second hand iphone from ebay and the seller said the phone was on contract but due to a fault on phone he got a replacement one from apple.

Lets say he didnt pay his bill, would the network block the phone if his replacement iphone imei didnt match their first one?

No he is responsible for the buy out price on his contract. That phone means nothing to the provider just gets added to his bill should he not pay and get cut off and collections will deal with him for the price of the phone. That being said normally they want the faulty phone back in exchange so make sure his story lines up before buying

Yes it should register... But either situation you are not responsible. If the phone is supposed to go to apple and he doesn't send it Apple will charge the provider the price of the phone and provider will charge him... Apple would rather the money then his old phone back and so would the provider... The phone is just a money maker for both parties should he sell it when he isn't supposed to
