broken phone

my daughter has completely broken her phone . went to apple store who advised retuning phone by courier, paying ?139 and getting new phone. i need the details of how to do this please

I'm surprised that Apple would tell you to return the phone to them via a courier. Normally, they'd just accept your payment and then repair it or switch it out right then and there.
