I'm basically going to use the MBP as a dev machine for iOS and possibly macOS development. I'm getting 4k to for the best representation of the iOS simulation for location of various objects on the iPad/iPhone screen.

I looked at the two LG monitors that Apple presented and rejected them because I believe I can do better for the money via a different interface (adapting display port to USB-C for example), or maybe another USB-C monitor.

So I'm putting it out there folks: What is the best monitor to buy? The main specs: 27", 4k, USB-A (3.x) ports on the back for some peripherals (external drive, maybe a hub of some kind). I have a wired keyboard and wired trackball I'll be using as well, though they could plug into the hub I eventually buy. I'd like to spend < $800 if possible.
