Bought iphone4 on Sep 26 can i return it for a iphone5 if released by late Oct

Hey all. Title says it all. Went to AT&T and got me and my girlfriend Iphone4's for our birthday. Sales Rep said new Iphone will not be released within the next 50 days. So I went ahead and got them. I'm hearing a mass release of middle to late October with Apple having something like 20 million phones made and expecting a sell out quick. If this phone comes out by Oct 26 can I return the 4's and get the 4s.

I'm pretty sure AT&T has a restocking fee, but other than that you have 30 days.

Sorry I was reading a post why Apple didn't release a Iphone5 and chose for a year based off of software. So I was thinking the word Iphone5. My mistake.

I have a few questions maybe some of you can answer

1. Since I will still be in my 30days to return the phone. Will I still be able to pre-order?
2. If I go to a AT&T store on the release date, will it be a complete pain in the ***. Returning my Iphone 4 I bought on Sep 26 and get a new Iphone 4s?

It wouldn't be a problem if I didn't buy this Iphone4. On September 26, the Tech told me the new Iphone will not be released at the earliest November 1st. Shows how much they know.

I am in the same boat.. I will be returning mine and getting 4s. Its a no brainer to get if you still have 30 days to return. Why not? Should just be some paperwork and restocking fee and your good to go..

i assume we just restore our 4 in itunes to original factory settings?

It also depends on how much you have actually used the device. For example on Rogers if you talk for more than 1.5 hours on the phone, you can't return it.

I bought mine from Apple on Sept 23 and will be taking it in on launch day to exchange it. I dont see why you couldnt exchange yours, however others are right about restocking fees and certain restrictions on talk time. I cant remember if ATT has a talk time cap...
