Is there an option in the camera to take black and white photos or does that need to be done thru a third party app?

No option in the stock version of iOS... perhaps a JB option for iPhone 4/4S... otherwise, it’s done in post-editing.

Not natively.

There are a million and one apps that take B&W photos, and even more photo editing apps available, many of which are free.

Not that im aware of, but to me the best third party app for it is hueless hands down

For $1.99? lol...it's kind of hard to mess up a black and white photo, and there are TONS of free apps that work just as well.

Go to Settings > General > Accesibility > turn Grayscale off
