Hello everyone, I have been roaming around imore forum for several years, and now I want more. I run macbookpro and got some bugs, especially with connectivity. That is basically another reason (the first one is my curiosity) that made me install Big Sur beta. So I feel very exited about the option of sharing my experience and learning other user's insights on Bi Sur.:big-hug:

Welcome. My first 11.x installations seem fine. My 2016 MacBook went into low battery (dark, plug in icon) when it has 27% charge left so I'll watch that as maybe an issue.

I had many failed installs on release day on my iMac.
Have read on other sites (not here) of the same issue.
Did anyone encounter this?
How you tried again?
Any success?
I’m chicken to proceed.
TIA

I finally was successful updating both my iMac & MBP
Good Luck

Hello and welcome to iMore, glad to have you aboard. I installed Big Sur on both of my iMac 27” units yesterday and so far, no major issues and I like it.

I’ve been running Big Sur on my MacBook Pro since the initial betas were released at the beginning of Summer and I’ve not encountered any problems with it while doing my typical computing stuff. I installed it on my work-issued MacBook Air this past Friday and thus far, everything is running well.

Welcome! That's a very lovely and lively community. Meanwhile, Big Sur is here https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2020/11/macos-big-sur-is-here/#mn_p. Have you been automatically updated to Big Sur official version? Or the beta just became non-beta once the new release arrived? Any difference to note between the beta and November 12 Big Sur?

No, I do not see any major differences between the Beta and the final release. The installation went on as an update, I even made screenshot.
Or there were two updates: first, there was a candidate,

and then the official release:

I really love the two horizontal bars at the top right corner of Big Sur desktop. It is very simple, yet it's a great graphical improvement compared to somewhat messy Catalina. Love it.Screen Shot 2020-11-10 at 19.39.13.png:heart:
