Hi everyone:
We decided to buy our 12 year old daughter an iPhone 7. Can anyone recommend the best case/ screen protector combo to protect the phone from The wear and tear of a on the cusp teenage girl.

Thank you.

You want solid protection for the phone, then I suggest looking into Otterbox or LifeProof cases. Two of the most rugged cases on the market that will offer great protection to the phone. And you can put on a screen protector with either but the cases come fully enclosed so can go without. Lifeproof are water proof. I have a Lifeproof on my sons iPhone as he can be clumsy at times and it has done a great job of protecting the phone. Just some suggestions.

Hopefully other members will come along and offer you other choices.

Has anyone tried the Tech 21 evo tactical extreme? Both Best Buy and Verizon wireless suggested it over the OtterBox defender. They claimed that it was similar protection but it's slimmer. However, you would have to add tempered glass.

What are your thoughts?

Has anyone tried the Tech 21 ...

I personally think the Otterbox cases are a bit of overkill (and IMO they are fugly...) that being said my daughter uses a Tech21 Evo Mesh with her 6s and it has excellent shock absorbing protection, and I gave my GF's kids the same case for their 5se iPhones and all three are doing just fine

My 13 and 12 year olds use Speck cases. They're protective but not overkill. I put tech armor glass protectors on there. They've each dropped their phones enough to crack multiple protectors but the phone screens have never cracked.

My son got a Nexus 6 for his 14th birthday in 2015 and on his birthday in 2016 he dropped it and cracked the screen. No way to fix it so I got him an iPhone 6 for his 15th birthday and put it in a Life proof case. He has dropped it a couple of times and you would never know. Great protection. For a kid that age, I would go life proof or outterbox

The good news is I bought two cases for my daughter yesterday in the color she loves. An otterbox and tech 21. She is so practical and mature for her age. She wants the otterbox.
