Before buying a new iPhone SE, consider an iPhone 12 instead

Applehas an iPhone sales problem, sales are dropping, sales are underwhelming, a cut in production builds has been ordered by Apple. This is a story that has been playing out the last couple years and coincidentally, I’m sure, around earnings or large movements in stock price. Given how wrong they’ve been it is axiomatic that what gets written now is no closer to being likelier than anytime before.

iPhone 12 or even an iPhone 11 is, imho, the better iPhone to buy unless you are someone who really wants the older iPhone design with the physical home button and thinness. Outside of SE having the A15 and a longer (and stellar) OS life, the 12 (and even 11) are the superior phone. Imho if possible stick with what you have or buy a cheap used 11 to get you to 2024. I suspect the Mini in a semi stripped fashion will be SE 2024. This will, imho, make the SE a much better budget IPhone.

iPhone 13 sales are doing pretty well.It's just that nobody really wants small phones. Especially one that is dated like the SE.
