My battery percentage has been acting weird. It got stuck at 83% so I reset the phone to find it at 87% and now it’s stuck again. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do?

I haven't experienced this problem in quite some time, but when it use to happen, I would let my battery drain down to 5% or below to recalibrate the battery percentage gauge. It worked back then, not sure about nowadays.

For what amount of time is the battery life remaining on a given battery percentage and are you doing anything that should cause the battery percentage to decrease during that time?

I don't think the battery percentage is monitored continuously. I think it is only monitored every few seconds or less often. Therefore, it might stick on one value for a short while even if you are using the battery. I don't think you should use the percentage as an absolute, but only as an approximation.
