Battery/Charging Problems!!!

A while ago, i left my iphone charging and the next day it was dead. I've noticed that when i connect it, the charging (lightning) symbol goes away after a few seconds and is replaced by the fully charged (socket) symbol. I've tried restoring it, restarting it but i'm afraid of upgrading to 3.1.3 since i'm not sure it even works. If anyone else has this problem, speak up and if you have a solution it'd be greatly appreciated

I'm guessing you've tried another cable, and also tried connecting it directly to the wall, vs. your computer?

If not, try the above...
