Just got my iphone pro Max today. I was setting it up when this happened. It's stuck in the update mode. Can't power the phone or anything. Have to contact Apple in the morning. Don't understand what happened

Have you tried DFU mode. That may allow you to get it powered off and then boot up the phone through iTunes. If that works then set it up as a new phone till you get to the home screen. Download the latest update then factory reset and restore

My first Pro would randomly restart while using it which was annoying by itself but when I would try to turn it back on it would take 5-15 minutes to turn back on again. They swapped it out and said they have seen a few weird things with the new phones so I'm assuming it was just random bad luck that can be written off as they make millions of these so it's bound to happen to somebody, and this time it was me. LOL

Don’t know if anyone else ever watches iJustine and her sister Jenna. This happened to Jenna’s pro max right out of the box, but unlike yours it never resolved itself. She had to get a new one sent from Apple.
Lemons happen, but I’m glad yours turned out okay so you didnt have to go through the hassle.
