Back Light on IPhone 4

I'm trying to set my back light on my phone so it stays on longer than 30 seconds, I've had this phone for 5 days and i'm a newbie that just switched from BlackBerry. Can tell me if it can be done or not and if so HOW THE H IS IT DONE.ty.,

Settings > General > Auto-Lock > Set as you please

I've had my iPhone for awhile but recently the back light not staying on has really annoyed me. I went through settings for awhile last night and couldn't figure out where it would be! This morning I decided to look on Google for help This was the 1st place I came to, and the answer was right there!
