What are the differences between the regular Next 12 plan and Next 12 with a down Payment? Can you upgrade more frequently?

What are the differences between the regular Next 12 plan and Next 12 with a down Payment? Can you upgrade more frequently?

As far as I can tell, it's just a lower payment. ATT requires 30% down (plus the tax that you already have to pay up front) and get a lower monthly payment. You still can't upgrade (without trading your device in) for 20 months, or 12 months w trade-in.
