I had eye surgery and cannot see. are there any free itunes books that I can listen to on my ipad ?

Welcome to iMore! I'm not aware of any free audiobooks available in iBooks but you might want to check out some other providers, like www.audible.com. They might have some free trials or promos to get you through this time.
