Has anyone figured this out yet? This is extremely frustrating. I've just switched from an lg v30 and I haven't had an issue with auto updates at all. Now I'll have apps that just won't work at all. then i come to find out that I have 23 apps just sitting in que on the app store that need updating. Then it takes forever to update them all at once.... It doesn't make since that these phone have all these cool features yet they can't do something simple like auto-update and app from the app store, I must be doing something wrong.

It doesn’t work like that.

Apps that have updates available are still fully functional, save from the changes within the update. If you leave the AppStore for what it is, you will notice that apps are getting updated periodically in the background.
Someone who never looks for updates won’t notice the lag in update intervals.

While you as person may want to update the second an update comes out, iOS will only look for and update every 2 maybe 3 days, if even that. I don’t have any idea what the official interval is.

Just go to Settings > iTunes & AppStore and enable Automatic Downloads for Updates.

Is anyone having trouble with Apps automatically updating? I have to go in and tap the update button now, I verified the setting is correct, I did the 10-tap to reset the cache, hard reset, nothing.
I can confirm that apps no longer auto
Update on my iPad Pro. ( wifi model ). I left it in my backpack for a few 3 days, took it out, unlocked it, and there were 30 app updates pending.

autoupdate was enabled but did not work.

It may be that the device just be unlocked and / or plugged into a charger.

I'll research this subject and update this thread.

I have auto update turned off, and look every few days to see what updates there are, some updates I don’t do ( like iMore’s yellow peril)
