I well remember the brouhaha when Apple ditched the 30-pin charger for the lightning charger. The angst and the gnashing of teeth was epic! And then, just like that, calm prevailed and it was all "ok"! This doesn't seem to be as traumatic, despite the efforts of the media to make it so. Yes, it's going to be an inconvenience, but it is, what it is, or what it will be. :sneaky: ;):giggle:

FireWire wasn’t proprietary, the standard was called IEEE 1394 and was developed by a number of companies that included Apple, Sony and Panasonic, among others.
