Apple's Black Friday deals are gift cards, not price reductions

Apple's Black Friday deals event has gone live out in Australia, and the news is that gift cards are the offer and not price reductions. Across pretty much the entire device range, Apple Store gift cards of varying values are on offer up to a maximum of A$ 150 when buying a new Mac.

I've bought Apple devices from Apple on the previous two Black Fridays.
I liked the immediate gratification of the discount but don't think it would have dissuaded me from buying if the only option was a gift card.

I got Hubby a 32g cellular iPad Air. I like that he will be getting a $75 gift card with it to accessorize as he chooses.
