So much good info from Counterpoint not put into the article.

-Apple is 34.1% of the global smartwatch market but is 60% of the global market revenue. Dominance!
-YoY market share: 2021->2022
Apple: 32.6% ->34.1% (Dominance!)
Samsung: 9.8%->9.8%
-Amazfit and Garmin both down 20% YoY.
-Fitbit fell out of the top 9 and into “other”.

The premium competitors have to sell too often at cost, just above cost to just to hold the line. We see it with smartphones too. It speaks volumes that you have to BOGO days just keep sales up :).
Yet don’t forget that Amazfit, Galaxy Watch and certainly Pixel Watch are looking for personal data to monetize.

Most oems would love to sell at cost, Samsung and google are giving theirs away, eating away at what little profit the once made. The market is consolidating at a feverish pace, with the current economy that will only intensify over the next year.
