Apple TV how to

I want to give 2 of the Apple TVs for Christmas. How do I know for sure I'm getting the latest model? Is there a better place to buy as far as price? Thanks for any help.

To tell what you're getting - you need to look closely at model numbers on the bottom of the device, or package labels...

Apple TV (3rd generation) Early 2012 A1427/A1469 -- A1469 is AKA the 'Rev A.'
Apple TV (2nd generation) Early 2011 A1378
Apple TV (1st generation) Early 2007 A1218

Also the first gen looks nothing like the second and third gen and the second gen is going to cost a ton more than the third because it can be jailbroken. The third cannot.
