Apple Store return policy

I got an rmini in white, but think I want in black. I lost receipt. Will that be a problem if I go to apple store and just ask for replacement?
Anybody ever have to do this?

I agree with prince, give the local Apple store a call. If you purchased it there it will probably be on file.

Just a reminder: aside from the physical receipt, always ask the Apple Store to email you a receipt as well.

Apple can pull your receipt by serial # if purchased at a Apple store

Yeah. The serial number gives Apple a lot of information. They can get basically any information about your iPad with the serial number. Like the activation date and how it was purchased.

Not only that, but if they took your Apple ID in the setup process that will have a record as well.

I have returned a couple of things to my local local Apple store. It's never been a problem so-far. I don't know about elsewhere, but here in Plymouth, UK, they email you your receipt as standard practice.

Trust me if you bought it from a Corporate Apple store they will have it on file or be able to find the purchase. Whether they will swap it or not is up to them but I am sure they have a standard policy like Best Buy for example that you can swap it out as long as you have everything that came with it including the retail boxing.
