What is alarming is the amount of money made with customer data, tracking, etcetera and it explains why they are totally against allowing us to control what they have access to.

Maybe I need know more to understand that. In my mind the drops in some stocks were or are just more of the pendulum swinging I've seen over decades. One of those swings that reflects something not being sustainable and corrections that make sense.

I'm sure some poorly informed or daft investors felt some pain but I can't feel too bad about it. A whole lot of people never fully or much realized what these privacy matters are. When people started seeing the explicit warnings on privacy most we (IT department giving end user support) know of chose more privacy. It was natural and just as I figured would be the case some day.
