85%? Within a year Apple may have 50 million iphone 14s in North America but that is probably at most. Must be a tiny fraction of 1 percent will need that extremely little sat bandwidth. And the bandwidth is billed as taking potentially 5 to 10 minutes to achieve. This can only be vaguely described as on demand. And That’s 85% of Globalstar’s capacity? That math seems odd. If Apple is actually leasing 85% then it leads me to believe Apple has something bigger in mind. What that is, if it is, I don’t know. Satellites need a much more expansive antenna array for any kind of slightly depend ground communication using a iPhone sized device.
