Apple is blocking downgrades from iOS 16.1

Nothing new. Apple stops issuing installation signatures for iOS 16.0.3, as it did for 15.6, 14, etc.

It simply prevents installing that version

I think it's how Joe worded it. They usually just say "stopped signing". Saying "blocking" kinda threw me off at first as well.

Yup, I knew that by some complicated(to me !) process, involving “blobs” and more computer skills than I possess, you could go back to an earlier version of iOS. I had not realised that enough people wanted to do this,to warrant “blocking” it.
