Apple had its biggest holiday season for the App Store, with $1.1 billion in sales

Apple announced today that it had its biggest holiday sales period ever for the App Store. It stated that it saw $1.1 billion in sales of app and in-app purchases during the two-week holiday period of Christmas 2015 and New Years 2016. January 1, 2016 was the single biggest day in iOS App Store history with $144 million in sales.
