What accessories are you guys gonna get for your iPhone 3G? I know I'm getting a dock for sure since they are not including one.

Bummer. False alarm.

HOWEVER, there were a million iPhone commercials on TV last night. The madness will commence shortly.

Was the MobileMe product already for sale before today? I ask because I didn't notice it before today.

MobileMe starts "Wednesday, July 9 between 6pm and 12am PST" (From the blog) because the iPhone is coming way sooner in New Zealand because of the time difference. However, people have already been buying the box with an activation code inside. So yes, MobileMe is for sale, but it's not up yet.

All that I knew. What I was trying to determine was if the addition of MobileMe to the Aplle Store might have been the reason for its closure. I think your answer infers it was not the reason.

sites typically don't go down during an update. i work for an ecommerce company, and when we update a site, it is all seamless to the user. servers will go down briefly, but it has nothing to do with a site update. if that was the case, espn would be down every 2 mins.

It's a known fact that the Apple site goes down for updates when they add products, usually with the yellow sticky note that says "We'll be back soon." I know when I update my site it stays up the entire time, but I also know that bugs happen during the switchover. My traffic is little enough it's not a problem for me, but I'm sure Apple would rather have some people see the yellow sticky note than have several people experience a bug with the online store, especially with the checkout system.

I'm pretty sure MobileMe was added to the online store soon after WWDC. So probably not.
