App transfers between iPad and iPhone

My apps from my iPhone 5s will not transfer to my new iPad air, why?

You probably need to turn on auto sync...under settings, look for iTunes and App store, and then make sure everything is set to "On".

It still has not transferred the apps despite everything being on in iTunes.

I am not speaking for Sean but I believe he means under the settings on your iPad. Check all of those settings under the settings app and then all of the other settings under the app store app .

Is it possible that some of them are apps that are for the iPhone only? Alternatively, and if your iPad is configured with the same Apple ID, you can go to the purchased section of the iTunes & App Store and re-download those apps.
