I need an app that will merge calendars, to do list, events from Facebook and possibly allow other information such as recipes for dinner. Is there such an app for my iPhone

Fantastical will merge your calendars and to-do list. But not really any recipes.

Your recipes you can keep in Notes.app, but one of those two should do the other for you. I've used both and prefer Fantastical but there are a bunch that prefer Calendars as well.
