Try any of the following.

1. Tap and hold on the app until all apps begin to jiggle. After that, tap on the x on the problem app to delete it. Afterwards, reinstall the app.

2. Make sure you have a steady internet connection.

3. Try rebooting your device.

4. Logout of the App Store, reboot, log back in and then try to update the app.

I can't remove it since its updating. There's no x

A reboot usually does the trick. You can also clear the app store cache by tapping 10 times on the "Updates" button at the bottom of the app store. This may help refresh the updates.

Or try double clicking home button and close the pages out that are opened. When I have problems that usually works.
