Anyone trade in an iphone 5 for their 6/6 plus?

I went to the Apple Store on launch day & traded in my 64gb iPhone 5 towards the 128gb Plus. They gave me $205 for it.

At t-mobile. It surprised me they took it for so much but then again they're matching all competitors with 50$ on top of what they're offering.

Can someone explain how the trade in at the Apple Store works ?
I have a month old 5S but wouldn't mind the upgrade... It's a factory unlocked model, and I plan to bring it to Key West next few weeks with me.

Do I have to walk with the box etc ?
