I’ve been working on switching over my calendar because I want google to have as little as possible any more data on my life. Love how privacy centric Apple is. Anyone else do this? If so why? If not why?

Didn’t think about it. But you’ve given me the idea. What’s so good in terms of privacy about Apple calendar

I been wondering how you do the Apple logo

Easy. “Copy” it from this post. Then go to settings>general>keyboard>text replacement. Press the + and then “paste” the  into the top box and then your abbreviation for it in the second box. I use the letters apl.

Yes. The switch was easy and everything sync perfectly for me in regard to the iCloud calendar.

I’ve used the native  Calendar for some time.
I switched from Google Calendar. It was easy
In fact I switch everything to Apple except for Gmail.
I also have some old Google Docs but all newly created docs & spreadsheets go to  Pages & Numbers
Good Luck

When I switched to  for good I pulled up 2 browser windows and moved all of my google events over to  calendar. Haven’t looked back. I did use the google calendar on iOS for a while before that because it was such a nice app. But for me, using  things with  devices always works better than 3rd party.

I too have moved my primary email over to iCloud. I haven’t gone in and done a mass switch to accounts that were created using my gmail credentials but each new account is tied to iCloud and many old ones have been switched as well.

Moved all of my contacts over from Google to iCloud shortly after I purchased my first iPhone. Why? Because I like the Apple eco system much better than the Google one. The only thing I still use from Google are all of my gmail accounts.... still the best free email account on the market for sorting spam (4 gmail accounts get absolutely no spam whatsoever).

I used to have my Swarm checkins synced to Google Calendar with IFTTT. But since they have started supporting iCloud Calendar I have totally abandoned Google for iCloud.

That’s enough for me right there. Moving all my stuff over is going to suck though.

Moving contacts over from Google to iCloud only takes a moment. If you use a computer, log into your Gmail account and download contacts as a vcard, then log into iCloud and import the vcard into your contacts. All done.

I was having trouble back in the day too so I just did it manually. Didn’t have a ton of stuff on my calendar at the time though.

Oh my calendar is transferring smoothly. It’s switching my email over from gmail. So much stuff. Probably a lot of junk too though. Good time to get rid of the junk
