Folks,

I have an iPad cellular model, and I would imagine that the watch would work with it, but for the fact that you have to lug around a 10 inch ipad! So what do you all think? Is it worth it? Can you use the Apple Watch with just an iPad. Is anyone planning on doing this? Am I crazy? (I TOLD YOU DON'T ANSWER THAT!!!!!)

The Watch requires a companion phone app to pair to - and so far no one has forced that app onto an iPad...

I have cellular in my ipad, and it can run most iphone apps, so it MIGHT work. Although I just did a search and could not find the app in question, BUT it might not be out yet, beyond the test bed.

It's funny now that I read this thread because I had just sort of assumed that it would work with the iPad. I can see why it makes more sense to go with the iPhone because it's lighter and would be the thing with you most ofthen through the day. So now if someone is only rocking an iPad they would have to get an iPhone if they wanted the watch. I guess the reasoning is if they didn't have a smartphone then the watch wouldn't really be useful to them.

Well, when you're at home (or the office) it can work over wifi, so you don't have to carry your iphone around.

I guess this would / could be useful if it were to work with ipad, but as everyone has said, it requires pairing & that option isn't available (yet?)

As stated previously there is a native app for iPhone only that pairs the Watch. You won't be able to do this unless Apple releases the companion app. Doesn't matter if you have apps that the Watch runs you have to have THE Watch App.

I got it, won't work with my iPad! Fortunately my Pebble Time will work with all my devices. :)
