Anyone having problems with Time Machine not backing up in El Capitan?

The last backup it made was on July 23rd and I try to back it up manually now and it says 'Preparing backup..." but then eventually does nothing.

Yes, my backups fail occasionally. It will fail one day . . . and then work the next--with no changes.

I'm having this issue as well.....it's now 20Aug and no backups since installing the beta. Any fixes?

Installed El Capitan a couple of days ago and now Time Machine is skipping scheduled backups even though there have been file changes. It works if I run it manually (from "Back Up Now" in the TM icon menu on the top line).

So you are saying if you leave whatever you have to back up like an external drive and it should and says will back up in an hour, I won't?

I created a 2 week reminder - repeats every 2 weeks- same time- same day. When I receive it i plug in my external and click back up now. When it's done I eject and unmount the drive and put it away until next time.
