Annoying sound when SMS sent

Is there a way to silence the "swoosh" sound when SMS texts are sent? I can't find a way to turn that off.... help??

Yeah, but unfortunately you have to be Jailbroken. There is a thread about it on here somewhere. If you do a little searching you should be able to find it. It basically consist of replacing the sound that the iPhone uses when a message is sent with a "dead" sound or blank sound file. Its really easy and one of the first things I did out of the box, lol. Hope this helps.

Didnt matter on mine, it would still play. Had to get rid of that garbage.

I am with you on that, I actually prefer this too. It has kind of become second nature to hear it and listen for it. Sometimes it comes in handy when I am in an area with bad service and I am trying to send a message, instead of starring at my screen I just listen for the sound lol.

seriously... i wish some things like this were more customizable... unfortunately it works as a marketing tool cause everyone in the room then knows you've got an iphone...

I don't mind the sound either. Maybe iOS5 will let us customize the sound.

Thats exactly what i did..lol
Now the wife grumbles because i didn't hear her call because i forgot to turn the ringer back on
