Listen, the iPhone is a well-made smartphone with a simple to use operating system. There are tons of apps for it and it holds it value well when you opt to sell it. Having said that, it doesn’t mean the iPhone is for everyone because it’s not. My advice to you would be to go to a local Best Buy store or your wireless carrier stores and handle the iPhone and the Android device you’re considering. Afterwards, pick the one that is best for “YOU”.

I've had Android phones for over a decade. I've never even considered switching to an iPhone but now I am switching. I'll have my iPhone 12 Pro in my hand tomorrow, going from a Samsung Galaxy S9+
The biggest reason that I've never considered switching was because of the lack of customization available on iOS. However iOS 14 has changed all that.

what makes the iPhone so great, I'm on the fence android or iPhone 12 pro.

For work (I'm an IT manager) I like the life cycle, stability, training, repairability and overall cost and satisfaction.

Personally, I like the Apple continuity and integration with their watch and desktop OS. I have to use Windows just like Mac OS and the watch and features called handoff and continuity are great. The Apple Watch alone has kept me from switching for a while.
