AirPods will take a beating

So in my rush to get home last Friday, get changed, and back out the door, I left my AirPods case (with AirPods in it) in my pants pocket. Saturday morning I did laundry.

Yep, you guessed it. They got washed and dried.

Amazingly the AirPods still work just fine. The case, however, didn't make it. It got severely beat up and won't work anymore.

So I called Apple and explained what I did and wanted to order a new case. The guy laughed at me saying he did the same thing few week back. So my replacement case will arrive today and I'm to send my old one back. If they can fix it, the won't charge my card. If not, I get charged $69. Since I was expecting to pay anyway, it was nice to find out that if it's fixable they'll just swap it out.

I'm not always happy with the decisions that Apple makes so this was a pleasant surprise.

Wow. My boss washed his AirPods like the day after he got them. They still work. His case didn’t take the dunk though. Glad Apple was able to help you.

Did the same to mine a week or so after I got them. They were in the case, but they stayed in my pocket and never went through the dryer (wife found them when moving clothes over). Let them dry out for a day or so, and they have been working fine ever since. The case still looks great, but I have a silicone cover on the case.
