“ however, we’re only one product revision away from potential perfection. ”

Users are typically only one revision away from expecting perfection. Actually getting it is the extremely difficult part.

Completely agree about your bass comment. I don’t know how old you are but my recollection of being early 20s, and betting early 20s being pretty much the same over the years, at that age I loved the emphasis on bass. I’m betting that has not changed. And it just so happens corporations love aged 20 something customers. IME most new TWEBs or OTE Cans are over emphasize bass. And they’re doing it to reach their optimal customer demographic…despite it reducing the overall sound quality, imho.

I hate too much bass. I prefer a more balanced approach to music. I don't recall an emphasis on bass when I was 20. But then, it's been 50 years since I was 20.

I hear that, it’s also been some years since I was a young 20. But I distinctly remember having the subwoofer installed in my car, Urgh. It’s in my older age that I came to appreciate the spectrum of the frequencies, all distinct, with gains that blends it just right.
On that front I have high hopes for AirPods Pro 2. With the understanding that TWEBS are inferior to cans, I think AirPods Pro nicely emphasized higher frequencies. I’m actually hoping APP 2 has a touch more bass while it takes the higher frequencies next level.

Same age, still like Bass heavy music, I do admit to messing with the equaliser settings on occasion (to not much avail !)
