AirPods & In Store Pickup - Still 6 weeks?

I just ordered a pair of AirPods and selected in store pickup at a local NYC store. The pickup date given to me at purchase was showing six weeks/late August. But has anyone had any luck getting them more quickly with in store pickup?

Yes the Apple Store still has a six week waiting period, but have you tried other places like BestBuy who is currently shipping in around two weeks.

The shipping time is still stuck at 6 weeks in Sydney as of June 29.

I ordered mine from Best Buy on July 20th and they were delivered July 29th. I had checked Apples website and it was showing shipping sometime in September.
