AirPlay with the iCloud help??

Can someone explain to me what exactly airplay is and how it works with icloud? I really like gaming on my ipod touch and iphone, but how can i get this to where its on a tv? Does the tv just show whats on your screen so you still need to look down to be able to play? Is apple tv necessary and if so just the $99 box will do?

Apple tv will do it but u need your phone and apple tv both on same wifi network basically AirPlay means u can play anything on your phone and it streams to the apple tv to the tv including AirPlay mirroring .that feature is only available on iPad 2 and iPhone 4s everything on your screen home screen etc will be on your tv

But yes, you still have to touch your iPad, or phone to play a game.

Ok awesome that helps clear it up a little more. I just feel like it will be hard to ever play a game like modern combat 3 by just touching?? Has anyone tried air play gaming? how is it?
