Can I share a song via Air Drop? I so how? What can be shared via Air Drop?

Nop, as far as I know you can't share songs using airdrop from your iPhone.

I tried using AirDrop from my Mac to send a song and basically what happened was it transferred but it was quickly stored in dropbox on my iPhone. Now as far as photos, you can AirDrop photos from your Mac to your iPhone and they are saved in the Camera Roll.

To add to Karen's post, it also allows you to share photos, documents and other similar files over Bluetooth with anyone else who has an iOS device/Mac. For instance, I could send a friend a picture over Bluetooth if we didn't have internet connection, or send it from my iPhone to my Mac.
