After newest Update. My notification Badge for WhatsApp for IOS is not working anymore.

After i did the most recent update. I clicked on whatsapp and noticed a bunch of messages but the Icon on IOS did not have the badge to tell me that i had messages waiting. Badges is turned on in SETTINGS/NOTIFICATION/WHATSAPP and not on mute in whatsapp. HELP. This is for work so not important enough to have full notifications turned on but important enough to know that theirs messages waiting for me.

Try to re install WhatsApp twice - no change

Badges is "on" in the settings section.

Welcome to iMore! This seems to be a common issue with WhatsApp and iOS 10.1. I suggest giving it a few days; the developer will probably release an update to fix it.

Not really.. I haven't update to ios 10.1 yet tho.. same issue even restarting

I tried multiple hard reset and then i turned off the chat backup on whatsapp
Its working fine now
Badge icon is showing

Same, this is happening to me after latest update and im on ios 9.3.3. If your fortunate to be jailbroken download app admin from cydia and you can downgrade the app version. I had to do this for paypal as well.

Im having this issue not only on whatsapp.. my apps store, messages also the same.. the badge notification doesn't seem to sync correctly with real notifications..

Ive updated to latest ios 10.1 still the same.. i dont think this is only whatsapp issue..

I'm having the same problem with facebook messenger which hasn't been working for a while and then I did the new update thinking it would fix but now whatspp is the same but was working fine before the update. I've even contacted apple support too.
