After getting my phone wet, I get an invalid SIM error. Is it damaged?

any ideas on what to do...i went on a water ride yesterday my phone now is saying invalid sim.... although screen is fine and i can see all my apps etc on phone turns on and off fine but cannot use it as saying invalid sim??? what do i need to do??
im guessing the water had something to do with this

Try using a different SIM card to see if that will work. If so, you will then know that your SIM was damaged. If a different SIM does not work, you may have to have the device repaired/replaced.
