after 9.0 update my messages are messed up

When I text my husband only, my children get my messages. When I turn iMessages off, the children do not get my messages I send my husband. This only started happening after the update.

Sounds like you are sharing an iCloud account for Contacts, iMessages, etc.

You need separate iCloud, iMessage and Facetime ID's.

In the previous IOS 8 if you deleted a contact and then retakes there name into the message bar when starting s text you could click the circle next to the name and then click remove from recents and it would be gone for good. Now that I have updated I can't do that. I did it with the email and that was removed but old contacts kewl showing up that I have already deleted. Can anyone help me with this issue?

I never even give those much thought. I rarely delete contacts. But a quick look turned up some old email addresses. Those from mail gave the option to "ignore". Those from messages gave the option to "remove from recents". I'll research this tomorrow. It's late.
