Added tones not working

I've added some ring and alert tones to my iPhone 6, that recently don't work, the phone seems to revert to the default tones even with one of the added tones selected. The tone seem to be available on the phone as they sound when I select them. I've tried the usual resetting etc with no luck. Ideas?

Try removing the tones and re-installing them. If you need to recreate them before you install them on your device. Also do they play correctly in iTunes?

Well thought it was worth a try. Removed them and reinstalled. Same same. Play fine on both iTunes and the phone. Just not as selected as the tone. LOL

LOL. Yes. And sound is "turned on."
