So, I have the new MacBook Pro (model without touchbar), and I am making a trip to the Apple Store today to purchase some adapters and a sleeve. I am definitely getting a USB to USB-C Adapter, but I'm not sure whether I should get 2 of these (one for drives, etc, and one for my phone), or one adapter and then one USB-C to lightning cord.

The lightning cord is $25, and the other adapter is $10, so I'd basically be saving $15 by getting 2 adapters versus one of each, but what I want to know is if there would be some huge advantage to getting the lightning cord as well that would warrant the extra $15.

I'd appreciate any input.

This one is personal preference... If you often leave the iPhone plugged into your MBP, then grab the usb-c to lighting cable and the usb-c to usb cables. OR... get two of the usb-c to usb cables the connect your regular lightning cable to that.

Really, six of one, half dozen of the other.

Either way enjoy your new MBP

Oh and the advantage of the USB-c to lightning is you can use that to charge your devices from the USB power brick. If you have an iPad Pro it will charge much faster that way.
