i’ll try to explain this. The past few times when someone has commented on my activity rings it goes to my iPad and not my iPhone, why is that. I get texts on both my phone and my iPad and can read and respond on both if that has anything to do with it.

Ed, I suspect Chris is using the Sharing function on the Fitness app. It lets other see and comment on your achievements. I've never used that which is one reason why I don't know what's going wrong in this case.

Messages alerting on specific devices on the same Apple ID is just something that happens. Frequently when I am using either my MacBook (or iMac) and receive a message, it will alert me on the computer rather than on the phone or watch. The phone and watch still get the message - they just don't sound (or vibrate) the alert always. The same thing will happen if I am using my iPad.

Sometimes, though, all the devices get alerts. It's a bit inscrutable.

My guess is that this is what is happening in this case.

When a friend that I’m sharing activity ring data with closes a ring, I get a message on my watch that looks like this:

This message also includes several options for me to send to my friend. Some are congratulatory, others are amusing and snarky!
