A vote for wireless CarPlay after this mishap

I was using a little extension plug on my cable to j my ‘18 VW Atlas. I was having difficulty with launching CarPlay and the innards of my UBS port are now inside this plug! 🤦🏽‍♀️ I do have another in my arm rest but either I can’t get the cable to fit or it won’t launch CarPlay!
