5G iPhones and iPads BANNED in Colombia by court in patent dispute

A court in Colombia has banned the import of 5G iPhone and iPad models as part of a patent dispute between Apple and Ericsson.

A good deal of folks will simply travel outside of that jurisdiction to buy the iPhone and iPad in my opinion. Unless I misread, the article doesn’t state the ruling bars citizens from owning an iPhone or an iPad. Apple will just not be able to sell, import or advertise the 5G iPhone and iPad in Colombia.

Apple must be pushing the pedal to the absolute metal to get their own radios/modems working and into production. So far 5G IP is an immovable object they stubbornly can’t find a shortcut around.

With that said, it is important to note a court is often assumed an authoritatively fair venue. That is an incorrect assumption. It may be authoritative but isn’t necessarily fair. Not to say this is the case here but it could be.
