No problem that I know of. I backed up my iPhone 4S (iOS6) to my MBP just fine... then restored my iPhone 5 with that back up. I've backed the iPhone 5 up several time since... nary an issue.

What kind of error(s) are you getting?

Wonder if something got crazy when you did the 6 update. I have no problems backing my 4S (iOS6) up to my MBP. I have done it several times since the update and it has been fine.

I get 2 error messages.
1- itunes could not back up the iphone because the backup session failed
2- itunes could not sync information to the iphone because a connection could not be established to the iphone
however the phone does sync both with or without a cable.
I wonder if its a problem with my macbook?
As mentioned before it works fine when it's booted into safe mode.

Are you jailbroken? You have all of your software updated to current versions? iOS 6.0; OS X 10.8.2; iTunes 10.7?

Do you have the phone set to do an iCloud backup? Not sure you can do both... the only other thing I can think of is to restore as new... but without a backup, you could lose a lot (SMS, game settings, emails, etc). Are you syncing contacts/calendars with iCloud?

I have tried to change the toggle for wi fi sync but it still wont backup properly.
It does sync correctly i think.
It just won't backup.
